While we wait for Hurricane now Tropical Storm Harvey to exit the area let’s remember what the Louisiana Fly Fishing is like when the sky’s are blue and water is cool and clear. Â There is nothing like a fishery where you have ability to spend a day on the water without seeing another fly fishing boat while enjoying opportunities at the caliber of Redfish the Louisiana Marsh is known for. Â When the weather is right the Redfish inhabit the whole water column top to bottom along shorelines and out in the deeper basins. Â This time of year the Redfish and Jack Crevalle congregate in the marsh to feast on the White Shrimp. Â This is an explosive time of year when the fish eat poppers very well as they follow the wads of shrimp on the surface of the water. Â The redfish are also in their annual spawn mode. Â During this season on calm day’s you can find huge masses of fish congregated together. Â Some schools can have more than 1000 fish in them!
