February Fly Fishing in Louisiana does not disappoint. Â The marsh waters are clear and Bull Redfish have moved completely into the shallows where they will remain until mid April. Â They are totally comfortable with their surroundings and have been for some time at this point. Â The Mullet, Bull Minnows, and Glass Minnows are offering up a steady hardy meal. Â The Redfish can be seen laid up on the surface of any water depth as well as tailing and pushing shorelines. Â The size range spotted on a daily basis is in the 25 – 40 pound range. Â These big Reds stand out in the clear waters like a yellow/orange beacon drawing your eyes right to them. Â The fish are relaxed as the predators have moved on due to water temps falling and the bulls are apex. Â A well placed is rewarded most of the time. Â Come stay in New Orleans just 50 minutes from the landings and enjoy this beautiful echo system and it’s bountiful Fly Fishing opportunities.
